Bringing a Band Together..?

As a vocalist with little to no connection to other local musicians, your best bet would be to find an already formed band that you can join as a backup singer. I'd check local churches with contemporary services or that otherwise have their own praise band. Starting a group from scratch as a vocalist would require an immense amount of effort and organization.
